Fuel consumption on ships during engine combustion generates harmful emissions to air. It also requires the use of fuel that must be obtained from natural resources.
We have an extensive fuel management system in place to monitor the quantity and quality of the fuels our vessels use. This is an important tool to ensure the efficiency of our vessel operations, as well as to achieve our aim to reduce the fuel consumption and generated air emissions in the fleet.
A comprehensive Ship Energy Efficiency Management Plan (SEEMP) has been developed for each vessel in the managed fleet. These plans introduce a variety of ship specific measures which aim to ensure the most efficient performance monitoring and operational management, resulting in a decrease in fuel consumption.
More energy efficiency-related initiatives can be found on our Energy Efficiency page here.
Zodiac is fully compliant with the IMO DCS and EU MRV Regulations on fuel consumption data collection.
